Primary Responsibility:
To repair and maintain heavy equipment used in both construction and quarry environments.  Repairs are both garage-based and in the field, as business and schedules demand.    
Essential Duties

  • View safety as paramount and proactively identify safety hazards
  • Perform effective job hazard analysis
  • Use and operate all hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Replace and repair broken equipment
  • Perform PM on equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems such as motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform field service and repair on various equipment
  • Coordinate with Manager on needed parts & supplies necessary to repair and rebuild items
  • Communicate effectively and timely with operational staff
  • Make accurate required maintenance documents and records
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Participate in Maintenance Team meetings as needed
  • Participate in weekly operational calls


  • High school degree
  • Two year technical degree or ASE type certification desired
  • Three or more years experience working as a service technician desired
  • Must have own hand tools up to 1 5/8”
  • Previous experience maintaining drills is preferred
  • Must be self-starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must have agood driving record
  • Must be able to work and travel throughout the State of Maine and to other regions to support larger-scale projects as needed.
  • Desired Core skills include:  mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics, diesel motors, welding, electrical systems, and PLC skills 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs., 30 - 40% of the time
  • Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments
  • Stooping and bending 30 – 40% of the time
