14c - An Art Fair Debuts in New Jersey with executive director Robinson Holloway

by Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD)

For AWAD Members and qualifying visitors*

AWAD is delighted to welcome Robinson Holloway Executive Director of 14C Art Fair to our May meeting. This past March the fair debuted on Jersey City’s waterfront to great acclaim. It was an initiative of the Jersey City Arts Council.

The meeting will start with Robinson giving an overview of the fair from conception to execution. She will discuss lessons learned and plans for the fair's future. There will be time for a Q & A session at the end. We are particularly pleased to have Robinson join us because AWAD was a fair partner and three member galleries participated in the fair.  Robison is also a past co-chair of AWADNYC and worked on the fair while in that position!

The second half of the meeting will be devoted to 'networking' in which members and qualifying visitors* share opportunities, discuss projects and more.

Our meeting will be hosted by ODETTA Gallery at their new space in the 1st Dibs Gallery. Please consider staying after the meetign to see Radiant with featured artists: Elizabeth Gourlay, Anne Russinof, and Audrey Stone.

Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD)

The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) is an international network that facilitates business and collaborations between women art dealers.

Based in London and NYC, AWAD meets on a monthly basis at both locations and also welcomes membership applications from art dealers, art advisors and gallerists based worldwide.

Since 2016, AWAD has also been piloting a Global Chapter open to women art dealers who are not able to attend London and New York meetings and events. Art dealers are spread far and wide around the globe, and AWAD is keen to support women art dealers regardless of location. Notably, AWAD’s mission is to support and facilitate business and enable collaboration between women art dealers.

AWAD Members work together in many ways, including art deals, gallery and pop-up exhibitions, art fairs, sharing of shipping costs to art fairs – and the list goes on. The organisation also offers masterclasses, networking events and online platforms. We believe that by working together as a whole, we benefit on an individual basis, by enjoying increasingly successful art businesses.

NOTE: JobsInTheUS promotes local job fairs in order to provide job seekers with extra avenues towards career opportunities. However, all career fairs are operated by other event organizations, and are not affiliated with JobsInTheUS and its sister sites.
