Company Research
For Job Seekers
Do the Research
Landing a great job is more than just a job search; it's also about finding a work environment that's right for you. Gain a better understanding of companies by searching and browsing Company Profiles on JobsInNewYork.com.
Here are three ways to do so:
1. Perform a Company Search
- At the top of the page, locate the gray Search bar. On the right, click on Other Search Options, and then select Company Search from the drop down list.
- In the pop-up window, type your keyword(s) into the first box and select Any Words, All Words or Exact Phrase from the drop-down
- You can also check Search Company Names Only if you're looking for companies with specific words in their company name
2. Browse Companies
- At the top of the page, locate the gray Search bar. On the right, click on Other Search Options, and then select Browse Companies from the drop down list.
- From this page, you can click on a letter to view all of the company names that start with that letter on JobsInNewYork.com. Click Other to view company names that start with something other than a letter, i.e., a number.
3. Browse 'Active Companies'
- At the top of the page, locate the gray Search bar. On the right, click on Other Search Options, and then select Browse Companies from the drop down list.
- From this page, you can click on View Active Companies with Jobs Only
- Here you will be able to scroll page-by-page through an alphabetical listing of companies now hiring and see how many jobs they have open. Click the company name to read up on the company; click the jobs number (to the right) to view their list of open jobs, each linked to a live job details page.
Easier, Focused Search
Focus your job search by researching and then targeting your ideal companies. Then you can network into those companies and you'll be that much more prepared when the right jobs come up in your search!
